Single-income households can often be complicated, as much as certain partners try to ignore it. There's always going to be that elephant in the room that whispers, 'It's not actually yours.'  If someone is reliant on their partner, every purchase has to be a request, rather than a choice. Sounds pretty exhausting, right? While we're certainly not judging the financial structures of anyone's relationships, this one does have us reconsidering the success of single-income homes…

This husband has accumulated stable income over time and can comfortably support his wife and child. With the luxuries of vacations and other higher-costing expenses every now and then. Yet, that does not mean that he is naive to the importance of saving, unwilling to throw his money around as if it were part of some Monopoly board game. So when his wife requests the newest iPhone, he politely suggests one at a lower cost, yet equally effective. However, she begins throwing her toys, accusing him of thinking that she's undeserving of the newest iPhone…The facts are that he's not even saying no, yet in her brain, any alternative suggestion is deemed a cop-out!
